Substance Abuse and Drug Education Program
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM:
- to be able to identify the triggers of substance use
- to obtain appropriate coping skills
- to have group support to assist recovery efforts
WHO SHOULD BE REFERRED:
- men and women who have a problem with substance abuse
DURATION:
- Initial assessment followed by sixteen group sessions of 1 hour per week
PROGRAM CONTENT:
- Substance Abuse Assessment
- The Disease Concept
- Growing up in a Dysfunctional Family
- Introduction to the Twelve Steps
- Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS
- Substances of Abuse
- Individual Session or Process Group
- Family Group / Family Session/Communication
- Relapse Prevention
- healthy lifestyle management (including nutrition, exercise and healthy hobbies)
Assessment fee must be paid at the time of the appointment. Sessions can be paid weekly and must be paid in full in order to receive Certificate of Completion.
