Addictive Disorders and Relapse Prevention


GOALS OF THE PROGRAM:
- to understand the disease concept
- to be able to identify triggers which lead to relapse
- to be able to develop strategies when cravings occur
- to develop coping skills
- to understand the importance of developing and maintaining a recovery-based support system
- to develop a relapse prevention plan

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
- Adults who have problems and who are addicted to alcohol and/or drugs


PROGRAM CONTENT:
- education into the disease concept
- introduction to the twelve-step model
- completing twelve tasks (the first three steps); review the remainder
- presentation and processing of steps, to include group participation for feedback, and to assess gained insight
- introduction into the dysfunctional family system
- development of an individualized Relapse Prevention Plan

**** four Aftercare group sessions upon completion of the program


DURATION:
- eight group sessions of 1.5 hours per week.
- upon completion of the eight sessions, there will be four one-hour sessions of Aftercare.

Payment is expected at the time of the services unless insurance is filed, if authorized.
